RIGID PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARDS

Rigid PCBs are widely used and are made of a solid substrate material, which ensures that the circuit board is not distorted. Rigid PCBs, which range from single layer to multilayer, are useful where they need to be established in shape and maintained over the life of the device. Because of their small size and ease of maintenance, they are suited for use in a wide range of applications where components must be fastened and there is application stress as well as increased temperatures.

 

The Advantages of Rigid PCB

  • Compact Size: The compact size of a rigid PCB is a significant advantage. It is known to take up less space, and with miniaturization on the rise, the significance of these PCBs cannot be emphasized.
  • Low Electronic Noise: Rigid PCBs have been shown to reduce electronic noise. This is made feasible by the way electronic components are put together to limit current flow between them. This also prevents the PCB from picking up electromagnetic waves and lowers crosstalk.
  • Immunity to Movement: When solder flux is applied to secure components to the board, they do not move even when exposed to hostile environments.
  • Repairability: These PCBs are easily repairable. The assembly method is also pretty simple.
