SMD components on one side (through hole components on the other). but no PTH (plated through hole) or Via. only NPTH (non-plated through hole) or location hole. As a result, It is the cheapest form of board and basic boards. In order to save money, sometimes, CEM-1 and CEM-3 are used for FR4 when constructing circuit boards. Occasionally, the factory will remove one copper trace from a 2L CCL . if there is no 1L FR4 raw material available.
